KDPW S.A. Website on MOSS 2007 Platform
We are proud to announce that the website of the National Depository for Securities available at http://www.kdpw.pl is supported by a new platform, Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007, as of 1 June 2008. This upgrade facilitates technical maintenance of the KDPW website including content management and publication by our services. Importantly, the new platform supports a browser available to all website users offering the functionality of easy and quick search for information. The website layout remains unchanged but will be gradually modified. The migration to the new platform was implemented by the in-house service of the KDPW Network System Team.

Second Round of New Depository-Settlement System Implementation Procedure Test Completed Successfully
KDPW Participants have taken part in the second round of tests of the implementation procedure of the New Depository-Settlement System (NSDR). The tests were held on 25-26 April 2009 with the participation of 49 companies: 83% of banks and brokerage houses participating in the project. Almost all of them successfully migrated data from the existing system to the NSDR and effectively established communication connections. The third round of the tests is scheduled for mid-May and NSDR implementation for June 2009.

First Tests of the Implementation Procedure of the New Depository-Settlement System
Over the past weekend of 4 and 5 April, the KDPW Participants could perform the first tests of the implementation procedure of the New Depository-Settlement System. Twenty-two entities - brokerage houses and custodian banks - participated in the test, including 17 which successfully migrated data to applications interacting with the NSDR and managed to establish communication links. The next tests of the implementation procedure will be held on 25 and 26 April and on 16 and 17 May 2009.

Link Up Markets Workshops
The National Depository for Securities hosted the second edition of Link Up Markets workshops on 26 March 2009. The session was chaired by Project Managing Director Tomasz Kindler and attended by representatives of the central securities depositories in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, and KDPW S.A. The workshop participants discussed the goals of the project, in particular how to improve efficiency and reduce costs of post-trade processing of securities transactions.

KDPW S.A. Funds Endowment for the Professorship of Polish Studies at Columbia University
A press conference held at the Warsaw Bristol Hotel on 25 March 2009 celebrated the raising of the endowment for the Professorship of Polish Studies at Columbia University. The media meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of the State Treasury, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and representatives of companies which made financial contributions to the project. The National Depository for Securities (KDPW S.A.), one of the main donors of the Professorship of Polish Studies, was represented by Ms Elżbieta Pustoła, President of the Management Board.

The National Depository for Securities was a partner of the debate "Impact of the Crisis on Listed Companies" held during the General Meeting of the Polish Association of Stock Exchange Issuers (SEG) in Warsaw on 25 March 2009.

Publication "Securities Settlement Systems in Poland and the European Union"
KDPW together with the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the National Bank of Poland has prepared the publication entitled "Securities Settlement Systems in Poland and the European Union." The publication aims to promote information about processes on the Polish capital market. It also describes the development of the major institutions of the Polish capital market infrastructure and the operation of international institutions including the International Securities Services Association (ISSA), the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA) and the Securities Market Practice Group (SMPG).

Lesław A. Paga Foundation
The National Depository for Securities has supported the Lesław A. Paga Foundation over the past years. The projects of the Foundation, including the Capital Market Leaders Academy and competitions for business, economics, and finance projects, aim to promote the Polish capital market among the young generation.

Press Briefing On NSDR
The second press briefing this month was held at the head office of the National Depository for Securities (KDPW S.A.) on 24 February 2009. Just like the first meeting, the event was devoted to the status of preparation for the implementation of the New Depository-Settlement System (NSDR). The timetable of implementation and the new implementation deadline were published. Ms Maria Dobrowolska, President of the Chamber of Brokerage Houses, was the guest of honour.

The 1st CEE Financial Center Meeting
The 1st CEE Financial Center Meeting took place in Warsaw on February 18- 19, 2009. The conference was organized by WM Gruppe - the publisher of the Frankfurt newspaper - "Borsen Zeitung". The meeting gathered many experts from the financial markets of Eastern and Central Europe.
KDPW was represented by Mr. Radosław Ignatowicz - the Member of the Management Board, who took part in the conference with a presentation on "The Role of the Clearing House in settlement risk management".

Press Meeting on NDSS Implementation
A meeting with journalists was held at the Head Office of the National Depository for Securities on 3 February 2008 to discuss the launch of the last phase of implementation of the new depository-settlement system (NDSS). Organised as an informal gathering, the meeting allowed its participants to exchange information about the status of preparation for this project of unprecedented complexity in the Polish capital market. The importance of the project is highlighted by the fact that over 70 entities are involved in the implementation of NDSS.
